Bio
Hargo Singh Boparai, a 25 year-old South Asian, was born and raised in California, USA. With a passion for music that developed at a young age, Hargo exposed himself to a diverse spectrum of music, ranging from desi/bhangra sounds to rap and dance. Hargo also developed an intense love for traditional bhangra music. Inspired by the skills of Ustad Lal Singh Bhatti, Kuldip Manak, Yamla Jatt, Chamkila, Surinder Shinda, Gurdas Mann, and Bhindrakhia, Hargo was enthused by pure desi sounds. At the age of 13, Hargo became involved in mixing, which at the time was an innovative idea. His blending of hip-hop and western dance beats to the traditional sounds of great artists such as Manak and Shinda had a unique flavor.
Having trained with vocalists and musicians in Punjab and the USA, Hargo has now ventured into the development of his debut album. Having been in the works for the past few years, it will be the first original desi album to ever be produced by an American-born South Asian. The album features some of the hottest names in bhangra, such as Surinder Shinda, Master Saleem (Dhol Jageero Da), Gurdas Mann, Labh Janjuah, Jaggi Singh, Mikki Singh, Teji, Kay-Dizzle, Flex Singh and more. Keep your eyes out for Hargo's highly anticipated release.
